As a California native raised in Los Angeles, I am well acquainted in the steps needed for success for the paths many students are on: working toward a CBDA honor band audition, preparing for an MTAC Certificate of Merit exam, building repertoire for college auditions, or getting ready to try out for the National Youth Orchestra. I've been through these systems myself and have helped students navigate them since.
As a former sales manager at The Flute Center, I handled flutes with players of every level, from beginners buying their first instrument to professionals hunting down a specific headjoint. That time gave me a technical understanding of the instrument itself: scale, intonation tendencies, and what actually separates one flute from another. I bring this expertise into my teaching strategy.
